WINE TASTING NOTES The QR Sauvignon Blanc has aromas of crisp green apple, tropical fruit, flint and lime. On the palate, the apple is accentuated with lemon and lychee. Overall, this is a fresh, balanced and full-bodied wine.

VITICULTURE: The Sauvignon Blanc grapes were harvested in Boskloof (Cape Agulhas region) where the vines grow in Bokkeveld, Koffieklip and gravel soil. Situated so close to the Atlantic Ocean, a cool breeze regularly sweeps over the vineyards allowing the berries to ripen evenly, while retaining their natural acidity and flavours. To preserve the freshness and delicate aromas of the berries, we harvested the grapes at daybreak and transported them in a cooled truck to the Stellenbosch cellar.

VINIFICATION: At the cellar, the grapes were gently pressed to separate the juice from the skins and to let the and left to ferment in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation, the wine was kept on the lees to develop in texture and complexity. To deliver an exceptional Sauvignon Blanc, we made small batches of wine to blend the best of the batches. The 2023 QR Sauvignon Blanc showcases the Agulhas terroir excellently with aromas and flavours of fresh apple and a flintiness

MATURATION: Then we rack the wine off the lees and age it in a variety of tanks and 500-litre barrels for approximately four months before we blend and bottle the wine.

FOOD PAIRING The QR Sauvignon Blanc 2023 goes excellently with chicken, grilled fish and sushi.
